At Alphabet cafe I have evolved from Waitress to Barista, Baker and now Cook (while maintaining all my previous roles. So essentially I wear 4 hats. I'm an integral part of the business's connection with the community and dedicate myself to building standards in the work place. I have been able to embrace responsibility at this business not just because of my passion for work but the trusting relationships I have built with the owners. Trusted to oversee the business when the owners have time off I have absolutley loved the opportunities I have been given (and asked for) at this business and it had played an integral part in building many of my skills to the high quality they are at today.

I was recruited to support this business during the busy holiday period and responsible of delivering a high quality of service to valued clients. In this job I was really shown my highly adaptable professionalism and natural place in customer service as I was able to blend into the job role without training.

Here I was exposed to my first multi-tasking job as waitress, bartender, food runner & hostess. I was responsible as a section waitress to oversee the nightly running of multiple tables while also on the occasion taking on the responsibility of hosting, supporting the bar and responding to the kitchen. My communication skills really excelled at this business as I was responsible for many sections and needed to clearly communicate with the team both front and back of house.

Merriweather was my introduction into the Brisbane hospitality community. I naturally fell into a position where I was in relationship with many clients, suppliers and industry peers, this is thanks to my open and embracing nature to be in relationship with literally anyone and everyone! Even though I only worked here for a short period it was full of embracing as many opportunities I could, because that's just the way I work. The relationships I built here have lasted for many years and now I even work for two women who I met that were trying to get there hospitality business off and running. We met and all knew that I would work for them when they had a shop front - now known as Alphabet Cafe.
