Activities included:- Review to what extent the CAREC countries adapt Codex standards with emphasis on food safety laws, including GHP, GMP and HACCP, system compliance versus product certification, Risk categorisation, risk-based inspections, food and nutrition labelling according to Codex standards, harmonisation of contaminants according to Codex such as CXS 193-1995 (latest version) "General Standard for Contaminants and Toxins in Food and Feed" but also pesticides and veterinary drugs and food microbiology (2 and 3 class attributes), and the two norms for Listeria.- Provided training on risk categorisation for imported food products and local food factories (Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan) based on the definitions of risk categories according to the FAO document "Guidelines for the Categorisation of Food and Food Establishments applicable to ASEAN countries".- Conducted a detailed (critical) review of the GOST based TS TR 021 2011 on Food Safety. - Conducted reviews of SANPINS and hygiene rules (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) bench-marked according to international standards.- Conducted a two-day workshop on food labelling according to EC 1169/2011 "Food Information to Consumers" Show less
