Patrick brings extensive managerial expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset to both non-profit, for-profit, private and government-owned cultural centers, heritage sites, bespoke hotels, conferencing venues and related hospitality and event-driven businesses.In his current role as general manager of the historic Grand Commandery Alden Biesen, he is successfully guiding the award-winning cultural heritage venue through a significant strategic, operational and marketing change, while strengthening its performing arts, cultural, tourism and heritage visibility. In addition he served as interim general manager at Kasteel van Gaasbeek, a museum castle near Brussels. His international career included positions such as general manager for a historic hotel, director of operations for a non-profit conferencing centre, adjunct professor in the hospitality management field, and honorary consul of Belgium; promoting economic, cultural and social exchanges between Belgium and the United States. Patrick serves on multiple executive boards and has prior board experience at chambers of commerce, large festivals, events and cultural heritage institutions. He earned various degrees, including a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management & Marketing, a Bachelor's Degree in International Tourism and Hospitality, a Les Roches Swiss Hotel Management Diploma and a Master of Business Administration degree. He holds various certificates in event planning and leadership, most recently completed an international Masterclass in Cultural Leadership from the Antwerp Management School and is currently enrolled in a training program to become a leadership coach for Flemish government employees.
