As an Alloy Melt Tech I control a high voltage electrical panel which powers a furnace where the alloy is melted into liquid. I am responsible for reading off a Melt Data sheet that consists of various alloys from the Periodic Table of Elements. I would learn all the Periodic Elements for the Alloy of the day. I would melt the elements into liquid at a high and safe temperature inside of the furnace while controlling the high voltage panel.Use a welder to melt down and test small samples of alloys for gas or defects.
