Field Audit Office Manager
CurrentAs a Field Audit Office Co-Manager at the Hampton Roads Branch Office my responsibilities include:• Planning, executing, and ensuring the completion of various types of audits either (i) those requested by Department of Defense contracting procurement commands as well as those from other Federal Government agencies (i.e. NASA, Department of State, etc.), for contractors whose accounting records are located in Eastern and Central Virginia.• Successfully managing three audit teams consisting of three supervisory auditors, one technical specialist and approximately 17 auditors who this past fiscal year completed 100 percent of their program planned assignments. • Overseeing completion of program planned incurred cost audits, and coordinating with various Administrative Contracting Officers and buying/contracting commands to ensure audits are responsive and relevant to customer requirements and expectations.• Managing timely issuance of various audit reports while also mindfully considering the impact of potential expiring funds, requirements, and the deadlines by the Administrative Contracting Office or the Procuring Command. • Maintaining good working relationships with major customers, such as Defense Contract Management Area-Hampton, DCMA Manassas, Norfolk Ship Support Activity-Portsmouth, and NASA Langley Research Center. • Ensuring coordination with supervisory managers and audit staff for the timely completion of audits by being involved with those that are at risk of missing milestones and potentially not meeting customer agreed-to due dates.• Visiting field office auditors regularly in order to foster team cohesiveness, including meeting with all team members to promote the Agency’s principles and objectives, as well as, to gather feedback by listening to concerns.
