Chris has dedicated his life to advancing health for all. Throughout his 25 years of service, he has leveraged his deep understanding of leadership, operations, strategy, physician relationships, and clinical performance both domestically and globally. Chris most recently served as the EVP of the Center for Innovation (Transformation) at The Health Management Academy. In this capacity, he led future-oriented programming and research, and brought unique expertise that supported collaboration and transformation among The Academy’s members in an effort to shape the future of healthcare. Previously, as Navicent Health’s Chief Strategy and Chief Innovation Officer, he led the system’s efforts to plan for the future, execute on strategy and innovation, and deliver on mission, vision, and values. Among his key accomplishments, he was a primary architect and leader in the strategic combination with Atrium Health, forming the southeast’s largest health system capable of delivering better care for all. Prior to joining Atrium Health Navicent, he was a thought leader at Sg2 where he led the consulting practice, oversaw the Center for the Future, and served as a trusted advisor to healthcare organizations, working together to create change in healthcare. He was CEO of Banner Health’s McKee Medical Center in Colorado, where he led the organization to strong financial performance and top decile performance in quality outcomes and patient satisfaction while creating an engaged workforce. He was vice president at Sinai Health System, where he held system and medical group leadership, operational and strategic responsibilities. He worked with major academic medical centers nationwide at University HealthSystem Consortium, and held several leadership roles at University of Chicago Medicine.He has leveraged his experiences and network of partners to advance health outcomes for communities globally during the past 20 years as Founder and President of sláinte global partners (sgp). He serves as an expert and mentor with the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), a fellow in the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and chemistry and a Master of Science degree in health services administration from Gannon University.
