• Safely operating a variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks and water trucks• Performing preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk around of assigned equipment • Inspecting subordinates’ work, ensuring accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications• Explaining deficiencies and implementing corrective measures• Coaching and mentoring personnel• Establishing, implementing and overseeing effective systems, processes and controls• Building strong working relationships and effective communication channels with key stakeholders• Demonstrating a high proficiency in all related equipment preventative maintenance• Reading and interpreting technical documentation• Producing various reports, presentations, analyses, correspondence and other documentation • Performing as a strong leader of a cohesive team with strict enforcement of health, safety and statutory regulations, quality standards, governance processes and compliance requirements
