Developing the strategic plan and associated reporting tools to prepare this innovative higher education institution for degree awarding powers and university status.

As Director, and as part of the Senior Management team my role is to provide strategic direction for Stonewall’s powerful empowerment programmes. These interventions give individuals, businesses, schools and communities the knowledge and skills to create supportive and inclusive environments for LGBT people and the power to direct change. Four teams in the division deliver distinct areas of work under the banner of empowerment, generating 40% of the organisation’s earned income, but more importantly driving social change across the UK and globally. Lead facilitator of LGBT intensive leadership programmes and responsible for sales and relationship management of all personal and professional development interventions delivered to employees from over 500 organisations each year across all sectors.Oversight of four annual workplace and education conferences, and a series of skills building events.Strategic responsibility for teacher training and support programmes that input into over one thousand schools in England each year.Responsible for successful tenders to FCO for international development programmes to train and support judiciary and LGBT activists in Eastern and Central Europe.

Responsible for securing, allocating and delivering organisational development projects across the non-profit sector. Congruent with SAL Consulting’s clinical practice, my role was to support organisations to develop and embed Neurodevelopment, Attachment and Trauma Informed approaches in their work to support vulnerable populations.Contracted by Deaf Society of NSW to re-imagine their organisation in order to move from a $5 million block-funded contract to a sustainable, client-funded model over three years. The new model integrates the positive social impact of employment for people with disabilities with a need for services provided in sign language. Commissioned by Local Government to investigate, review and make structural recommendations about a failing Third Sector disability service provider. After six months of implementation the funder has experienced organisational reform and better care for people in residential care.Recruited and supported a community partnership board to develop a practice framework, strategic plan and $3 million funding strategy for a place-based suite of services on behalf of a major non-profit provider.

AbSec is the Peak Body for Aboriginal Out of Home Care (OOHC) in NSW.Seconded into a State Government Executive Director position, I was responsible for leading a sector-wide, major change project that brought together government agencies, peak bodies and service providers. I co-authored the framework to enable sector-wide change to transition kids in state foster care to NGOs with a $500 million budget. In parallel to the ED role I lead a team to develop the strategy and tools to build the capacity of the Aboriginal OOHC sector.Established nine multi-sector partnership groups to plan localised program roll out across the state. Doubled the number of accredited Aboriginal community controlled OOHC agencies.Tripled the proportion of Aboriginal kids in care who are looked after by Aboriginal agencies.Successfully advocated for policy changes that increased investment in the Aboriginal sector by over $20m.

Responsible for developing strategic plans and delivering management support, training and development to non-profit organisations across Australia.Funded by local government to work with small non-profit and social enterprise organisations to build their capacity to take on outsourced programs. Fifteen agencies secured long term contracts with an average of $2-$3 million each. Designed and delivered “It’s Your Business” training materials to over 75 organisations across NSW, strengthening governance and planning capacity in the disability sector.Developed a capacity assessment and mentoring program with bespoke assessment tools and development plans. This assisted foster care agencies to define & measure impact, grow at a manageable pace and secure contracts.

Responsible for managing the division’s delivery of cutting edge HIV prevention and health promotion programs and coordinating the activities of twenty five staff and a multi-million $ budget. As part of the leadership team I provided advice to the CEO and board of directors on strategic, policy and program matters.Delivered state-wide social marketing initiatives achieving 70% target audience recognition.Improved ACON’s ability to deliver timely and high quality approval and acquittal documentation. Increased collaboration between units, divisions and external stakeholders.

Responsible for program design, quality and impact across teams of 8 staff and over one hundred volunteers in this community based, volunteer led organisation. As the senior manager I was charged with developing and maintaining partnerships with funders and other providers.Designed and implemented new project management processes that impacted budget, time and quality. Oversaw the change management processes involved in merging with a smaller NGO. Developed successful three year funding applications within a competitive tendering process.
