I grew up on a small Island near Seattle. My parents built the house themselves and we cut our own firewood, grew a lot of our own food. I have worked as a builder, installed solar and designed off grid systems, and lived in all sorts of off grid homes from a van, to a sailboat, to a tiny house. II have always been an engineer at heart and prior to starting Kionnali was pursuing a career in the automotive sector focusing on electric vehicles, and bring that perspective on systems, packaging and production optimisation to the work. I have worked on several of projects in the Agile and open source hardware space and draw a lot of inspiration from that world. I am passionate about using the amazing tools available to us as engineers to improve the basic systems of people's lives.
