Curriculum Support Specialist (Assessment Coordinator)
CurrentAs high school Curriculum Support Specialist (CSS) I support building, district and state initiatives as they relate to testing requirements in the State of Washington. I am responsible for extraction, compilation and tracking of student data that informs academic decisions for student success. I am responsible for the planning and implementation of all mandatory State and District assessments and also serve as Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Coordinator. The SSD Coordinator is responsible for ensuring students with Individualized Education Plans and 504 Plans are provided approved accommodations and supports on any/all assessments. A sampling of annual assessments includes: Smarter Balanced, iReady, ELPA-21, World Language Testing, Healthy Youth Survey, Highly Capable, ASVAB, and WCAS. Many of these assessments impact graduation status and require constant attention to ever-changing State rules and regulations. The specialist is also responsible for ordering, planning and proctoring school-wide CollegeBoard exams (AP Program, SAT, PSAT). The CSS submits various alternative documentation and waivers to Washington OSPI to clear students for graduation. The CSS regularly communicates with students and parents in person as well as by telephone, email, and BlackBoard C5i call-out system. This position requires proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, a high level of organization and event-style planning skills, and a commitment to strict deadlines. Success hinges on the ability to work independently, provide clear communication, and cultivate a collaborative relationship with peers. All duties are performed while adhering to strict testing security protocols and maintaining student confidentiality.
