About Corrinn Chambers

I am the Services & Personnel Manager for a charity called Lifeline Community Action. Lifeline Community Action (LCA) are a Charitable Organisation based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham providing emergency aid and supporting services to families and individuals who find themselves in great need. We provide emergency aid through our main projects Children's Blessings and Helping Hands. Through these projects we provide essential cleaning, toiletries and household items aswell as baby items for new mums and dads. We also run a Community Hub where excess donations of items that can't be utilised in our project packs are recycled by putting them out for the community to take free of charge or for a small donation if they wish. We also run activity classes aimed at reducing social isolation as well as improving physical and mental health. I hold a Business and Human Resource Management Degree and enjoy all aspects of HR/Management.

    I was a face to face debt caseworker for Citizens Advice Cuonty Durham after Sedgefield & District CAB merged with Greater Durham from the 1st April 2014. I worked 24 hours per week on the face to face debt contract opening a minimum of 6 new cases per week. I also was an approved Debt Relief Order Intermediary. I then returned to work after maternity leave and prior to this was working 35 hours per week with higher weekly targets (9 per week). I gained experience of dealing with clients cases from initial interview and throughout the debt process until the client was advised of all suitable options and had chosen their preferred route and I assisted with this route until the case could be closed. This could include negotiating with priority creditors, token offers, debt management plans, debt relief order or bankruptcy or in some cases just advice on how the client can deal with their situation themselves should they not wish to follow the CAB’s procedure. Prior to this post I was employed by the Bureau as a Legal Services Commission Debt Adviser for 3 years until the contract ended in April 2013. I worked to the stringent requirements of the Legal Aid contract and in the last 12 months met the requirement of a self- supervising caseworker.
