I discovered my love for photography at just 8 years old, using a simple camera to capture the beauty of nature in my backyard. As I grew, so did my passion, especially after discovering Photoshop in high school, which expanded my interest in both photography and retouching. It became clear to me that photography wasn’t just a hobby—it was one of my greatest loves.At Ohio University, I immersed myself in every opportunity Athens had to offer. In my freshman year, I joined Thread Magazine, where I gained valuable experience. By April 2021, I became the Photo Editor, a role that nurtured my passion while sharpening my editing and leadership skills. I guided fellow photographers, providing constructive critiques and teaching them editing techniques to help them grow.In August 2021, I joined the Gallery Committee for the School of Visual Communication, where I learned the ins and outs of gallery curation. This led to organizing two successful exhibitions: the Student Organization exhibit and an exhibit at the Front Room Coffeehouse.In my senior year, I took on the role of Marketing & Design Intern for Ohio University Culinary Services, where I applied my photography and design skills, while also handling social media. By December 2022, I became Head of Social Media, where I increased account outreach by 58.1% in my first month.Beyond these roles, I interned at Ohio Drip, was an active member of the Multimedia Society, and had my work featured in five gallery shows, all while running my freelance photography business.After graduating, I worked as a Project Employee in the New Media department at the United Steelworkers, gaining experience in design and social media until May 2024. In October 2024, I joined Kaela Speicher Photography as a Photography Assistant. This role has been an exciting step forward, allowing me to work alongside a talented team in portrait and fashion photography. It’s deepened my understanding of studio work, lighting, and portraiture, further fueling my passion for capturing beauty through the lens.
