Completed the Basic Officer Training Program (BOTP) and Naval Environment Training Program (NETP) at NOTC Venture in Esquimalt, British Columbia. Trained in basic military duties, including: drill, fitness, weapons training, leadership and resource management for as many as 80 persons at a time, conflict resolution and working within a large team environment. During training or exercises at sea, duties included basic seamanship evolutions (ropes, use of small boats, signalling) rescue drills, fire fighting/damage control, navigation and conning orders.Part time duties with the Navy included manager of the Wardroom bar, distance learning for Navy courses while at university, assisting or organizing mess events and unit fundraisers.
