My campaign, as well as Hillary's, did not end as I had hoped. The campaign’s end result was not a surprise, I had an uphill climb in a heavily Republican district. I was committed to a clean, issue focused, campaign without corporate or special interest money and I am deeply grateful to the 127,000 people that voted for me and to all of my volunteers and supporters.

I was working part-time with World Wildlife Fund to stop illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing, specifically, on a short-term project to ensure the Obama Administration published a final rule to address the issue. The final rule was published on December 9, 2016.This rule will benefit U.S. fishermen, consumers and our oceans.
