Previously, Cort was Deputy Director, State Government Affairs for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, responsible for the company’s advocacy on state legislative and regulatory matters. Cort served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Association of Health Plans and was chair of the association’s Medicaid Committee. He began his career in various positions in New Jersey government and politics including serving as legislative director to multiple members of the New Jersey General Assembly. Cort earned his law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Camden and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with High Honors in Political Science. He completed the Eagleton Institute of Politics' Henry J. Raimondo Legislative Fellowship and currently serves on the advisory board of the New Leaders Council-NJ Chapter.
