Led a team of 3 Service Members, 2 GS civilians and 3 government contractors, along with support from our administrative assistants provided operational support to more than 3,500 hospital staff as well as 98,000+ beneficiaries in the National Capital Region. Our primary goal was to provide logistical and supply support for our active military and retiree patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.In order to properly dispatch support evenly across the main campus and our three outlying clinics, my role was to logistically place our staff where they are needed to be for maximum efficiency. I maintained eight counseling offices, seven meditation rooms and a chapel within the department while supervising six administrative assistants and two contractors. This experience could help a business who wants a manager that understands the big picture at a strategic level as well as finding balance in operational staffing positions. My bi-daily meetings with our hospital board of directors, quarterly large-scale exercises and multiple site visits at remote clinics for audits and inspections have shown me many similarities in running a major factory, distribution or logistics center.

I managed, coached, mentored and administratively supported a diversified group of 84 U.S. employees and 30 Korean personnel spread across the Korean peninsula, while logistically responsible for five structured buildings that housed over 350 personnel. I will admit, this was the most challenging position that I have held in my military career. It was also my most rewarding assignment in terms of operational productivity as it truly sharpened my communication and critical thinking skills to where it is today. This unique assignment gave me insight on how to connect strategic actions with the calculated day-to-day functions in an organization. This experience allows me to help companies maintain an advantage in their industry by linking their everyday operations within big-picture strategic goals.

I was selected for a special position as an operations manager working at the nationally known Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This job opportunity is meticulously reserved for trusted, seasoned personnel who have a comprehensive background working in high visibility environments. My team of Service Members, GS civilians and government contractors provided world-known operational care to more than 7,100 staff, both the President and Vice President of the United States, members of Congress, Justices of the Supreme Court and over 1M beneficiaries within the National Capital Region. My exclusive role here was working operations for the Warrior Transition Unit, a department consisting of our Nation’s finest uniformed members that were injured in combat and came here to heal. I was in charge of logistics for two buildings as well as 11 personnel. I made sure that our injured always had an opportunity to be seen by our in-house chaplains while helping to coordinate with the hospital protocol officer to have site visits from members of Congress when it is on the schedule.I feel that my experience in this position provides real value to any organization that needs a leader who can build a positive corporate culture and brings together cross-functional teams to solve complex problems within their operational capacity.

I worked as an operations supervisor, in charge of a newly $925k renovated chapel while administratively responsible for 16 personnel. This assignment really introduced me to the world of budgeting, logistics, and supply chain management. In this position, I was given the opportunity to have oversight on contract negotiations with multiple contractors bidding for the chapel renovation I submitted and got financially backed through government funding. It is through this experience, in addition to working with several vendors for cleaning, flooring and grounds keeping that I grasped the understanding of operations at the entry to mid-level.
