Cortney Singleton, Acupuncture Physician & Yoga TherapistIntroducing, Cortney Singleton, originally from Fair Hill, MD. Cortney provides an integrative approach to wellness, fitness and holistic healing. In 1996, Cortney moved to Orlando to complete her undergraduate degree in Communications at the University of Central Florida. After one year of working in the corporate setting, Cortney realized she was destined for a “hands on” way to help people improve their lives. Cortney had been working at the YMCA in a marketing and membership role while also teaching indoor cycling and personal training. After attending one yoga class, it was clear to her that there was an alternative route to emotional and physical wellness. Cortney received her formal teacher certification with Integrative Yoga in 2001 and Power Pilates Level 1 in 2005 and has been teaching yoga since 2001 under various influences including Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn and Dharma Mittra. Most recently Cortney received her master's degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at The Florida College of Integrative Medicine. Every “body” she encounters receives a specialized treatment, often a combination of yoga at all levels, acupuncture, Thai yoga and Chinese massage, cupping, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. She has lead Yoga and Pilates trainings all over Costa Rica; was commissioned by the royal family in Saudi Arabia to lead individual sessions with the princesses as well as train the trainer Pilates teacher trainings for the fitness staff at Yibreen in Riyahd. Cortney's life experiences include teaching at Orlando Power Yoga and The Salt Room; leading retreats in Costa Rica, Panama, and I carry my own liability insurance and have up to date CPR, AED, BBP and First Aid certification.
