I have a decade of experience conducting research in academic, non-profit, and governmental-contractor positions. This work has helped address a wide range of topics, including geospatial intelligence, defense mapping, construction of novel python scripts to aid in data analysis, ocean acidification, coral diversity and health, monitoring and mapping range shifts of endangered species, prediction of biogeographic assemblage regions, husbandry and care of a variety of species in an aquarium setting while SCUBA diving, identification of possible shipwrecks, supporting management consideration for coral species, comparison of fish assemblage composition on natural and artificial reefs, processing and incorporating backscatter data from multibeam echosounders into predictive habitat models, and benthic habitat mapping in a variety of locations using remotely sensed data and in situ field techniques. In addition to this extensive field work, I am proficient in a number of computer software programs, including but not limited to Python, ArcGIS, ArcPro, ArcOnline, ERDAS Imagine, Fledermaus Geotools (FMGT), eCognition, Trimble HomePort, Primer-E, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and the Microsoft suite. I also hold a current FAA Part 107 drone license which I use professionally and personally. My skills and expertise have helped support research at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium (Mote), Nova Southeastern University (NSU), the New England Aquarium (NEAQ), and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS). As lab manager of the GIS and Remote Sensing lab at NSU I helped direct and train multiple grad students on proper data collection and analysis techniques while assisting both grad students and the principal investigator with proposal and publication writing. As a member of Consolidated Safety Services Inc. (CSS) under contract to NCCOS as a Remote Sensing Specialist I assisted in a variety of marine mapping projects around the world. I am currently working for GeoOwl LLC as a geospatial intelligence analyst and part of the UAS and Geospatial Solutions team.
