After 3 decades in the transportation industry 14 years of management, I have started my own commercial carrier company. Bell Energy Service Transport (BEST). This has been the opportunity for me to do what I know best. Being a small business owner is job like no other. Hiring and training staff, keeping in touch with customers, solving customer issues, implementing marketing strategies, networking with other drivers billing and equipment maintenance. All can be trying but also rewarding.

Dispatch all drivers in assigned area. Ensure all drivers have safety training in handling hazardous materials and operating company equipment. Ensure all assigned drivers have been trained in Company policies and procedures. Coordinate field issues with Trucking Coordinator and Area Manager. Audit drivers logbooks, run tickets, trip reports, hourly pay sheets daily before submitting. Maintain positive relations with customer field personnel. Participates in incident investigations. Responds to operational emergencies involving accidents, spills, etc. Daily observation of field activities and operations. Safety inspections of trucks and trailers. Identify, address, and document driver performance issues. Supervises all employees assigned to specific location; is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsible for appraisal of employee performance, rewarding and disciplinary actions of employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. To be involved in new hire paperwork, orientation, training, etc. Field SupervisorInspect drivers and train them according to API and DOT standards.Build rapport with drivers and clients. Inspect equipment for defects in equipment and paperwork. Locate, map and inspect new batteries. Process paperwork.Take calls from Pumpers and drivers and deal with day to day matters.Oil field tanker testing and transportation of crude oil per API standards.Work 12 to 14 Hours, travel 200 to 500 miles per day, service West Texas area.Complete all records and paperwork daily.

Haul sand loads 24 hours a day to different drilling locations from various sand facilities in South and West Texas area. Averaging 3 to 4 loads a day.Track time using a e-log.Keeps logs of trips, including mechanical problems, engine problems, causes of delay, etc.Communicates with the dispatcher and the client regarding problems and delays in delivery

At Express Energy, I was responsible for the day to day operations of a fleet of about 65 units. I enforced all safety an legal aspects including logs, logistics, H2S training, repairs, registrations and inspections.• Responsible to work closely with the service line leaders to ensure all applicable technology and processes are used ensuring execution excellence, client value-added service including cost competitiveness.• Attend team meetings to provide assistance in resolving issues, review progress and ensure assignment of new tasks. • Maintain and report on established Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as required by supervisor. • Provide recommendations and guidance to other Functional groups with regards to processes, monitoring and system requirements. • Seeks advice and guidance for difficult or complex tasks from management staff. • Facilitates liaison between planning, project management, information systems and other functions within the company.• Monitoring production activities and ensuring compliance to all Express Energy safety and quality policy and procedure guidelines. • Managing the utilization of all equipment within specified area according to the regional strategic plan.

Generate claims through strategic consulting and business relationships as well as referral business. Work in conjuction with the forensic analysis process to qualify any and all businesses that have incurred a loss as a direct/indirect result of the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. I also have assisted as a QC File Reviewer for claims that were submitted for payment under the GCCF Guidelines as well as the new MDL Settlement Methodology.

Train drivers various driving techniques used in route delivery and the operation of refrigerated multi-compartment trailers.Monitor driver’s work assignments to ensure legal and safe working hours Coordinate driver’s home time, productivity, training and other issues related to driver satisfaction to maintain awareness of driver fitness Follow all applicable safety regulations and coach drivers to be safe, efficient and productive Act as primary contact for drivers, while communicating detailed work instructions, as well as providing timely responses to messages via telephone, PeopleNet, email and voice mail Act as the liaison between drivers, internal departments and external customers Work with dispatchers to ensure driver safety, productivity, satisfaction and development Work with dispatchers, planners and customer service representatives to resolve issues pertaining to service and maintenance Communicate overnight fleet needs to staff during shift changes Develop and maintain positive relationships Act as the driver advocate, without compromising other interests of the business Ensure accurate records from drivers, including driver status, projected time of availability, return to work, truck out of the shop, routing, driver related accessorial charges that include, but aren’t limited to detention, load and unload charges Monitor driver activity to ensure plans are executed properly and driver performance issues are documented appropriately within the reporting tools Maintain compliance with all dispatch processes Recognition of special instructions to comply with customer’s unique needs and appropriately communicate to all drivers Other duties and responsibilities are assigned as business needs require
