• Operates and maintains production wells and water treatment facilities, storage tanks and distribution systems. Changes pump settings as needed and make basic treatment and operational changes to water treatment processes and distribution systems to meet water quality standards. • Monitors and adjusts flows through wells, booster pumps,, and reservoirs to control the distribution system and system pressure.• Performs system checks, enters data into databases and spreadsheets and prepares work orders and reports.• Maintains treatment process control records (logbooks, workbooks, chain of custody forms and purchase order database), calculates data, and enters data into a database. May also prepare water outage reports, and write reports. Writes reviews and revises SOP’s. • Uses appropriate techniques to properly collect, preserve and identify water samples for submittal to the laboratory for analysis. Co-ordinates sampling activities with Water Quality Technician and Lead Operator. Performs process control field tests.• Maintains chemical and treatment equipment, logs, and inventory at all times, assures all required sampling is completed and logged within the required time frames, logs all sample results in a timely manner.• Trains other technicians on work methods and procedures involving pumps, valves, motors, treatment systems and chemical injection equipment.• Reviews and troubleshoots production and process trends utilizing spreadsheets, graphs, and SCADA instrumentation.• Unloads and stores hazardous chemicals, batches and mixes chemical solutions and transfers bulk chemicals.• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and works cooperatively and jointly to provide compliant drinking water to customers.• Performs related duties as assigned and participates in the On Call rotation.

Under supervision of the Water Production and Treatment Supervisor, monitors, and operates wells, treatment plants and distribution systems to ensure efficient, safe and compliant operations, which includes: adjusting automated system controls and instruments; reading meters, gauges, and other monitoring equipment; cleaning and calibrating equipment; checking for mechanical failures; ensuring equipment is operating within specified parameters; inspecting equipment and preparing related work orders; maintaining inventory; operating pumps, valves, compressors, generators, and chemical feeders and, performing other related duties.
