Throughout my graduate studies, I have focused on the study of viral pathogens affecting plants. My work has primarily involved developing accurate and reliable diagnostic tools for detecting viral pathogens across a diverse range of cropping systems. Additionally, I have conducted phylogenetic and population analyses of viral pathogens to understand their adaptation to resistant crop varieties.Another area of my research has focused on using RNAi and CRISPR-based technologies to engineer crop resistance to viral pathogens. Through this work, I have gained a deep understanding of the biology of viruses and their impact on cellular processes. This understanding has enabled me to explore synthetic biology approaches for developing novel strategies to combat viral pathogens, including the development of in planta virus bioreporters.Overall, my research has allowed me to gain valuable insights into the complex interactions between viral pathogens and their host plants. My expertise in the field positions me well to contribute to the development of new and innovative approaches for managing viral pathogens in agricultural settings.
