Postdoctoral Researcher
I'm currently leading a project on thermal analysis and modeling of a supercritical CO2 energy storage system to improve grid stability and load response. I've implemented a thermohydraulic model for an sCO2 packed bed storage system in Python for integration with commercial cycle analysis software to perform parameter studies and a cycle optimization study. Performing research on supercritical CO2 combustor design. Investigating staging and mixture strategies to maximize combustion efficiency and reduce emissions. Assessing the impact of real gas effects on kinetics and flame characteristics to establish best practices for CFD simulations at extreme conditions.

Graduate Research Assistant
Construction, testing, and design improvements for a new, high-pressure shock tube facility. Studied methane and natural gas ignition modeling at 200 bar, with and without CO2 dilution, for application to rocket engines and sCO2 power cycles. Performed system modeling and experimental data processing. Mentored undergraduate students in engineering and research methods.
