Currently as a tree inspector I inspect park, right of way, and private tree's for quality of health, longevity, and hazard identification. Tree's face many more challenges in the Urban environment than in the forest, urban heat island affects, pollution, conflicts with infrastructure, and competition for space in our ever expanding city scape. In protecting our tree canopy as an inspector we can protect the future generations to come from climate change, and build a more reslient tree canopy in the city of portland.

Forest ReLeaf of Missouri operates as the only nonprofit community-assisted tree nursery in the region. Since the inception in 1993, more than 150,000 trees have been planted throughout Missouri and Illinois – projects that have increased tree canopy in low-income and urban areas, assisted with reforestation after major weather disasters and those undertaken to promote peace and healing in our communities. Forest ReLeaf is a catalyst for restoring and sustaining our urban forests. With the help of thousands of volunteers, ReLeaf is planting trees and enriching communities.My main job at Forest ReLeaf was to help enrich local communities through the love of trees, and plants. Educate communities about the ecological benefits, and financial of planting trees. Run a educational course "Treekeepers" that is free to the public, a community forestry course to train the community on environmental awareness and basic arboriculture principals.

-Assisted in the care, management, removal, and pruning of trees throughout urban areas in the city of St. Louis, Mo.-Climbed trees with ropes, safely lowered limbs, out of the tops of trees.-Maintained a safe working environment at all times.-Experience using/fixing chainsaws, driving large trucks, and using tools.-Experience operating an aerial lift in order to safely remove limbs from trees.-Hired by city of STL to map Emerald Ash borer “potential” host to trees and create maps with Arc GIS.-Assessed tree health with customers, and implemented IPM program’s to combat pathogens.
