My progression from product support, engineering, and now territory management has been organic, and is an example of my drive for growth and constant improvement.In my five years as an application engineer, I made the commitment to myself, my company, and my customers that I would learn our product inside and out so I could provide the best possible support to my customers and in depth answers to their questions.As a product engineer, I built upon my knowledge of our product and customer applications. This was the platform I used to help build one of the first serial absolute encoder manufacturing cells in the United States. One that duplicates the high standards of quality and throughput of our German sister company, Hengstler. Additionally, I engineered modifications to our existing product to help our customers with turnkey rotary feedback solutions. During this time, I also collaborated with partners in Europe, US, and Asia to add a servo feedback protocol option that not only allowed customers to weigh the pros and cons of the protocol itself against others, but allowed customers to evaluate multiple encoders with that protocol. Where before there may have been only one encoder per each absolute protocol. If you search, you will now find the BiSS protocol in just about every major servo drive available.All of this experience helps me provide detailed responses that meet my distributor’s and equipment manufacturer’s needs. The time that I spent closely working with other territory and sales managers as well as marketing during my time as an engineer has more than adequately developed commercial expertise.
