In the IT Support role here, I manage the network and deal with any IT issues that the staff may have. I run the show mostly on my own with help from my mentor-like figure who also works there. One notable achievement here is that I successfully migrated 2 Windows Server 2008 servers into a Hyper-V virtual machine setup consisting of 2 physical servers and 4 virtual machines. I also successfully migrated the files on the file server using robocopy, keeping all user permissions and file attributes in tact. This project gave me valuable experience on installing Windows Server and building Active Directory from scratch.

At Cornwall Electric, I was in the IT Support\Helpdesk role after completing my college co-op there. I was able to complete most helpdesk issues within the hour they were created and often found myself looking for more to do in my role with the free time I had left. This is also where I met a mentor-like figure. This mentor-like figure helped strengthen my knowledge on a variety of network topics such as DNS, SCADA, and VPN creation to name a few, along with giving me hands on experience in the server room such as making and running network cables, as well as server management. This mentor still teaches me to this day and helps strengthen my knowledge in the IT field.

My first tech support job was working at Best Buy in the Geeksquad department, where I worked for 2 years. I was one of the fastest at mitigating any issues that customers had in order to get them back their device as soon as possible. I would also deal with hardware replacement as well, which was no problem for me. I've had coworkers come to me and ask me to deal with the hardware issues as they felt safer with me doing it. My time here strengthened my knowledge on technology and gave me valuable experience on how to deal with a wide range of technological issues.
