Cory McGregor is a Geoscientist with seven years of professional experience focusing on the geomorphology of mountain, fluvial, and glacial environments and the geohazards pertaining to these regions. Cory has worked through a diverse range of sectors, including municipal, provincial, and federal organizations; land development; hydropower and transmission projects; mining, oil and gas industries; and railways and transportation infrastructure. His project experience includes terrain and terrain stability mapping, hazard and risk analyses, environmental assessments, impact studies, and field investigations into mountain fans, fluvial environments, and unstable slopes. Cory has managed a variety of projects ranging in value from less than $20k to more than $200k. He has completed analyses at spatial scales ranging from site specific to regional studies.Through his career, Cory has interpreted several hundred thousand hectares of diverse terrain across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and Northwest Territories. To accomplish project specific goals, his mapping has been adapted to derive suitability classifications useful for permafrost characterization, infrastructure development and maintenance, till sampling field programs, and archaeological resource preservation potential. Cory has led and completed hundreds of field based hillslope and fluvial risk assessments along pipelines using semi quantitative methodologies. His experience includes, permafrost instrumentation soil classification, RTK GPS surveying, and stream discharge measurement and gauging. He has considerable expertise in utilizing geographical information systems for spatial analysis.
