Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin is a 12 week culturally based program that promotes the reconnection of Anishinaabe men to their traditional roles and responsibilities while fostering the development of their Indigenous identities through one-to-one supports, group based services, culturally appropriate approach, a variety of activities, networking and partnership building.• Indigenous men and male youth (13+) who are proactively seeking cultural resources and supportive services in the movement to end violence against women• Indigenous men and male youth who were or are currently involved in the justice systemProgram Objectives:• Improved self-esteem and sense of identity among urban Indigenous men within the program• Reduced instances of violence against Indigenous women from men who have received program supports including those who were reintegrated into the community• Reduced stigma around conversation on violence against Indigenous women• Increased collaboration between Friendship Centre’s and Delivery Sites, levels of government and other organizations to support efforts to reduce instances of violence against indigenous women
