Profile bio

About Cory Reed, Phd

My background is in computational seismology. During my PhD, I was broadly interested in characterizing the mechanisms through which the uppermost Earth (i.e., the crust, lithospheric mantle, and upper asthenosphere) evolves over geologic time in response to dynamic plate-scale stresses. My research focused primarily on the passive seismic modeling of the crustal and uppermost mantle structure beneath the southern East African Rift, including the juvenile Malawi and Luangwa rift zones, utilizing data acquired from the two-year SAFARI (Seismic Arrays For African Rift Initiation) experiment, for which I spent over six months installing and maintaining seismic stations in the southern reaches of Africa. You can find a more thorough listing of my research publications and associated literature at the following locations:Scopus Author ID: 56423152500ResearchGate Profile: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Cory_Reed
