 Lead development of innovative, patent pending, adsorption based technology for light noble gas recovery. Involved lab testing of unit operations and development of business model with commercial lead. Organized and executed technology testing of a helium facility proving first-of-a-kind distillation and process cycle as well as identifying over $1MM in productivity savings. Worked intimately with the helium business area to develop process cycle of several ETO opportunities for delivery to engineering team, capturing work process with formal Technology Procedure. Part of a team that designed, built, and started up a 1MMTPY carbon capture and sequestration plant within two existing SMR (steam methane reforming) facilities in Texas. Specifically responsible for the VSA (vacuum swing adsorption) process that removed CO2 from the syngas streams at the two facilities. Project was one of three awarded by the DOE to demonstrate industrial scale CCS where CO2 is captured and used for enhanced oil recovery. (Capital Project of $300MM)Designed and specified the process, equipment, and valves for a Helium PSA in a first of its kindCO2/Helium separation facility in Doe Canyon, Colorado. (Capital Project of over $100MM)Led the process design efforts for a 40MMSCFD H2 Ethylene Offgas cleanup facility inBaytown, TX, serving as primary technical contact with customer. Support existing assets with efficiency improvement projects and cost reduction methods.

Designed and specificied all equipment, control valves and instrumentation for an Air Seperation Plant in Taiwan that used an integrated LNG cooling loop to provide refridgeration for the plants liquefier.

Set up advanced controls, specifically batch tracking software, for newly acquired chemical plants in order to better diagnose problems and find improvement ideas. As well, the software helped keep track of daily and monthly production amounts and report out when desired. Also, merged process data storage servers from key sites onto an upgraded, modern system with backup capability.
