A reliable, self-driven, and articulate audio engineer pursuing a career in the music or film industry.Cory has an expert-level and unique knowledge of the audio and film industry. He has completed over 3,200 hours of live sound work, as well as dozens of recording sessions for local bands around Bloomington Indiana. For live sound, he acted as head engineer for a two-week production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, as well as recording engineer for Jacob's at the Movies' production of Steven Speilberg's E.T. For studio work, Cory has worked with several local bands performing various music genres such as rock, indie, jazz, alternative, hard rock, and big band.In addition, Cory plays drums as a member of the local band, Syzygy, playing queercore (indie/punk) music around Indiana and Illinois. Jillian Blackburn, writing about Syzygy for WFIU, says that "the queer and trans led band has made a space for itself in the arts communities of Bloomington and southern Indiana" (Blackburn, WFIU). This experience has led him to establish himself as a driving force in the local music scene, both as a musician and recording engineer. Many bands value Cory's experience as a drummer in his studio work with other groups.Through professional podcast work and personal filmmaking experience, Cory also has a plethora of knowledge and experience in the film industry, specifically in the audio sector. Mixing and editing episodes of the podcasts "PlayHard Podcast" and "Hiring Matters" podcast has taught Cory the ins and outs of the modern media industry.Currently, Cory works as the founder and head engineer at Rose Studio in Bloomington, IN where he is currently accepting clients for recording and mixing services.
