Over the past six years, I have worked as a reservoir simulation engineer for both heavy oil and conventional petroleum assets. I also spent three years working to develop a proprietary reservoir simulation software.For the last year, I have been a member of the Guyana asset team for future projects, working on a multi-billion dollar development. My day-to-day activities include designing and executing full-physics predictive reservoir simulations, establishing the range of uncertainty and value of information for data collection opportunities (with costs in the millions of dollars), and collaborating on a multi-disciplinary team to make project level decisions. I spent three years working on a team to develop a proprietary reservoir simulator. I had a customer facing role, collecting feedback from our business units on what features they would need to efficiently setup, run, and analyze predictive simulations. I would then collaborate with front end/UX and back end programmers to design, validate, and deploy these features. I developed the validation tests (as well as regression tests to ensure older features weren't broken with new releases). I also developed an extensive python library for pre- and post-processing as well as optimization tools. In my final year with this team, I benchmarked our proprietary software against the commercially available equivalent, and developed a roadmap to address the gaps we found. During my first two years I completed a stage-gate review process to commercialize a new heavy oil extraction technology; I also have a first-author patent with the company to improve upon this technology.

I completed four assignments at Air Products. In the first, I worked as a plant and operations engineer. At the second, I performed modeling to support several existing chemical plants. For the third, I worked mainly with three chemical plant start-ups (one of which I was on the team that traveled to the site to perform the start-up), and in the final assignment I worked on materials research for hydrogen fuel tanks using zeolites.
