I applied to Cash Saver at the age of seventeen as a basic floor worker/stocker. My basic duties were to stock shelves, and make sure product was put up in the correct spots. I was then promoted to Night Manager as soon as I turned 18. My duties then became having to open and close the store, count down register tills at the end of the night and reset them for the next day, and make sure all work/lists are finished before the end of the night. A couple of months before I turned nineteen, I was offered the Assistant Store Manager position, in which I took the opportunity with full confidence I could complete whatever needed to be done with this new title. As I was trained, I worked and trained in three separate departments, produce, meat shop, and dsd receiving. In produce I learned how to order product and keep up with rotation of product. I was also introduced to wrapping of products in bulk to sell. In the meat shop, I was trained to wrap even more, due to the fact that I needed some major retraining in wrapping for the difference in product. I learned how to grind ground beef and check labels for correct dates. In dsd receiving, I spent the most amount of time training in this department. I learned how to retail invoices, key invoices, hang and print tags for the entire store, keep department heads within budget and help them stay within their gross margin. I handled the store’s money and dealt with all pricing of all products within the store at the register. Besides these three departments, I also learned, as the Assistant Manager, to form a deposit for the bank, count the safe to be sure it was within our base amount, and handle major store situations with ease. I always ordered product for the entire store to be sure we would have a store that was filled up and not looking bare. (Although, due to Covid and other problems, it seems as if product does not come in no matter what happens) I love this job, and hope I can continue to earn another store money as I move to Murfreesboro to start schooling soon. I will be sure that whatever company I will be accepted in for an interview for, I will work hard day in and day out. Thank you for your time!
