Primary responsibilities are to overseei the streamlined operation of the technology department and to ensure it aligns with the strategic objectives of the school district. Principal goals include providing leadership with maintaining a stable and effective technology infrastructure, offering efficient technology support to stakeholders and working collaboratively with the Asstant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and the district Technology Integration Specialist to provide solutions to increase student achievement and personalize learning.Daily assignments consist of planning, coordinating, directing, and designing all operational activities of the technology department, as well as providing direction and support for technology solutions that enhance critical district and school operations. Work closely with district decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the school system.

• Mount, configure, monitor and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment, WAN/LAN fiber and network connections and internet connectivity.• Install, configure and maintain district servers, applications and services.• Configure, deploy and manage VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.• Manage and maintain WhatsUp Gold network management application and communicate and resolve network/service outages and issues.• Update and support Lawson HR/Finance/Payroll System servers, services, accounts and 3rd party applications.• Configure and administer CommVault disk and tape backup solution and perform off-site tape rotations.• Develop and perform student data pulls for district testing, staff operational needs and report analysis.• Provide helpdesk support for students, parents and district staff applications and technologies. Tier-2/3 support for Technology Assistants.• Help manage and provide work direction for Technology Assistants.• During summer of 2009, served as interim Director of Information Technology.• Successfully planned and executed a project to move Shakopee’s primary data centers hardware, network infrastructure, and internet services from the Shakopee Junior High to the High School.

• Mount, install, and configure servers with Microsoft Server 2000 / 2003 operating systems.• Assist with planning and design phases for Exchange 2003 migration project. Scheduled and communicated mailbox migration process for 1800+ mailboxes for Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.• Successfully planned, tested, and migrated 500+ staff members’ home folders and shared network resources to Network Attached Storage appliance.• Manage NAS appliances to provide a unified storage solution that increase the capacity, availability, scalability, and restorability of business critical data. • Integrate and support software packages to support specific service level agreements, data availability objectives, and disaster recovery via tape, snapshot and SnapMirror backup technology.

• Setup user accounts to access and utilize network resources via Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Administrator, and VPN application.• Supported 1500+ internal and 225+ remote sales force employees for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.• Researched, developed, deployed, and supported new hardware platform for 225+ sales force representatives.• Created standardized Ghost images to setup new or rebuild existing desktops and laptops.
