Partners in Policymaking Director. Implemented a statewide advocacy training program working with a collaborative of five statewide associations serving families and individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsible for all aspects of program bringing together national and state leaders in developmental disabilities with parents of children with disabilities and adults with disabilities for 130+ hours of training over eight months. Duties include grant research, writing, and reporting, hotel and vendor selection/negotiation, speaker engagements, support service arrangements, organizing legislative visits and mock hearing at State Capitol, alumni support. Also trained topic including State Government Structure and Procedures, Advocacy through Social Media and Effective Networking.

Director of a statewide association providing technical assistance, training, advocacy and support to Family Empowerment Centers across California. Responsible for services to the centers and coordination of networking and collaborative activities. Wrote successful grant for state funding of association. Work closely with center directors to develop and implement a statewide strategy for educating and assisting families and improving educational services to children and young adults with disabilities. Also responsible for all aspects of the association's operations and management.

Sacramento, California Area

for this nonprofit organization providing social services to adults, youth and children with disabilities in Sacramento, Yolo and Placer counties. Led Lekotek through a merger that resulted in Hands Together, an agency of 21 employees serving more than 400 children and families each year. Responsible for all fiscal and human service matters. Ensured program funding through community and government grants. Designed and implemented programs and services meeting the needs of families of children with disabilities through collaboration with Alta California Regional Center and local advocacy and service organizations.

Sacramento responsibilities included management of foster care services and community-based MediCal services. Yolo County services include residential treatment, a non-public school and MediCal services. Responsible for approximately 170 employees and program budgets totaling more than 7 million dollars. Duties included strategic planning, staff development, marketing, and program development, operations and assessment.

Responsible for program development, program operations, admissions and assessment unit and day-to-day administration of the county operated shelter. Oversaw nearly 120 employees providing emergency shelter care and services to approximately 140 children each day. Also provided services to families of children in the shelter including arranging counseling, visitation and other services. Innovative achievements included creating a structured interview and selection procedure for counselors, developing and implementing behavioral crisis intervention training and bringing about changes through cooperative efforts with four employee unions.

Responsible for all aspects of operation of a 36-bed residential program for children in foster care. Responsibilities included agency programming, personnel, training, finances, community relations and fundraising. Managed the agency's 1.2 million dollar budget with no deficits. Worked with both the national and international parent organizations to successfully establish the Florida Children's Village as the first of its kind in the United States. Other responsibilities included risk management, program evaluation, board development, contract negotiations, media relations and fundraising. Worked in collaboration with local family court judges, state social services, area Chamber of Commerce, county Children's Services Board and other community organizations.

Responsible for all program services to young adults and youth. Services included employment training, residential treatment, individual and family counseling and other mental health services. Trained and supervised staff in behavioral assessments, intervention planning and implementation. Responsibilities included program development and assessment, grant writing, staff training and development, community liaison and fundraising.Additional past experience includes providing training and consultation for social services agencies in the areas of treatment planning, crisis intervention and working with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents.
