ImpactPHL is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to growing the Greater Philadelphia region’s impact economy. We encourage and help individuals and organizations align their financial assets with their values and to do with a local lens, which means investing in our own backyard - in the businesses, entrepreneurs, and other opportunities creating a better future for our region. Our community includes investors large and small, foundations, family offices, social entrepreneurs, and business leaders. By aligning our collective financial assets and regional economy with social and environmental goals, we will create an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient economy that works for all of our residents.

The Project Liberty Digital Incubator helps stimulate the establishment and growth of digital media start-ups in the Philadelphia region. Project Liberty is funded by a grant from the John S. & James L. Knight Foundation, operated by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA, and hosted at Interstate General Media (parent company of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, & Philly.com).

Manage all aspects of the organization with a mission to serve and promote the region’s technology community. Report directly to the Board of Directors. Changed many aspects of the organization’s operations to streamline or add value for our members. • Grew membership 50% in a 3 year period. • More than doubled attendance at our monthly events to more than 120 and set attendance records for our annual flagship events as well. Hosted or moderated events featuring Eric Schmidt, Mark Warner, Aneesh Chopra, Bob Metcalfe, Graham Weston, and others.• Built strong relationships throughout the community including CEO’s and other VIP’s. • Positioned the RBTC as a connection point for capital, talent, and resources for tech companies and entrepreneurs in the region.• Spearheaded the effort to change the name of the organization and led the rebranding process. • Led multiple initiatives to raise the profile of the region as an emerging tech hub to aid local companies’ efforts in recruitment of technical talent. • Launched and managed peer forums to allow small tech firms to connect and share best practices.• Served as advocate and ambassador for the region’s tech community to government officials, media, and those looking to relocate to the region. Public and media relations.

Diverse responsibilities required involvement in a wide variety of activities ranging from strategy and concept to ground level implementation. • Communications: Developed concept and launched HNS’s first customer support website. Grew registered users from zero to more than 200,000 (better than 85% of our customer base). Launched two e-newsletters for HughesNet customers and resellers to improve communication and loyalty. Wrote, edited, and managed newsletter distribution. Developed concept and launched the HughesNet Partner Extranet website, which served 2,000 independent dealers nationwide. Wrote script for TV segment and served as the on-air personality.• Partner/Channel Management: Improved channel support resources yielding the highest percentage of sales from indirect channels in company history. Manage marketing efforts within the retail sales channel (Best Buy, Radio Shack, Intel, Earthlink, etc.) including recruiting new stores, training, & communications.• Project Management: Took the lead on a lingering effort that was discussed for almost a year and implemented within two weeks, producing an additional 500 sales and $30k in revenue per month. Led a complicated year and a half long effort to consolidate bandwidth allocation. This program required significant customer participation and saved over $500k per month. • Service Development/Improvement: Developed upgrade programs and co-marketing agreements that produced >$5M in annual sales and increased monthly service revenues by almost $2M. Represented the Marketing Dept. for cross-functional teams concerning product/service development. Led high profile project to transition thousands of AOL customers.

Lead generation, cold calling, and solution consulting were daily activities. Negotiated contract terms, agreements, and pricing. Responsible for the development and management of multiple direct reports.
