My passion for Japanese – the culture, the architecture, the language – traces back to my childhood. I remember watching Totoro as a young child and being fascinated by classical Japanese design as well as the sound of the Japanese language. Years later, I followed my passion and majored in Japanese at Western Michigan University (WMU) in Kalamazoo, MI. At WMU I had the opportunity to study abroad, spending a year in Japan where I was immersed in the culture, completed college courses, and taught English as a second language to children, preschool through high school.As a university graduate and TEFL certified ESL teacher, I again followed my passion and moved to Japan to further my language studies, teach English as a second language, and to lay the groundwork for my career goal to utilize my language skills in business/sales/manufacturing.
