Lead a 2-person sports department along with freelancers in covering 12 area high schools and the Green Bay Packers. Designing sports pages throughout the week using QuarkXPress, NewsEdit Pro and Adobe Photoshop CS. Covering several games and week and taking photographs at the events. Also assist the news department in breaking news coverage and general news stories and features. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Kicked off a very successful Green Bay Packers preview section that ran weekly on Fridays, helped in a major redesign of the Shawano Leader between 2007 and 2008. Took on the role of Sports editor for the company's weekly newspaper in Oconto County (the Oconto County Times Herald) in 2009 and developed several special sections to add to the Shawano Leader sports coverage: preview guides, athlete of the year section. Began the use of Facebook and Twitter to update readers on happenings in the sports world in the Shawano County region.In October 2011, promoted to presentation:Responsible page design/layout of our company's daily and weekly newspapers using InDesign,Quark XPress and Photoshop.Responsible for special sections that appear in the paperResponsible for art/graphics in the company's papersManage newsroom staff in Shawano Leader location

Covered several events a year for the Rhinelander Daily News in Rhinelander, Wis. including an annual music festival in photos and stories throughout the 5-day event, several sports stories Green Bay Packers and feature stories.

Began as a freelance reporter and photographer for the weekly newspaper Oconto County Times Herald (Shellman Publishling) and soon moved into full-time photographer, reporter and type-setter position. Covered sporting events at five area schools in stories and photographs as a well as covered news events and breaking news. Type-set press releases that arrived as well.
