During graduate school, I founded an EPA-certified electronics recycling company dedicated to reuse of viable electronics, which diverted over 3,500 tons of electronics from waste streams. Starting from just an idea, my team and I successfully cultivated strategic partnerships with companies of all sizes (small to Fortune 100), designing and developing individualized programs to solve e-waste, data security, and asset value recovery problems. My company was acquired by a competitor in 2015.

I designed, implemented, and maintained technology infrastructure for small- and medium-sized businesses. This position included performing periodic spot-checks and inspections, such as routine PCI DSS and network security auditing.

I scraped public data from cash-for-textbooks programs (such as Amazon, BookByte, and Textbook Recycling), creating an SQL database of purchase price margins for each textbook at IWU. Using social media marketing, I purchased thousands of textbooks, providing students with higher cash value than existing on-campus buyback options, while allowing per-unit profits.
