I now have over 10 years of experience in the Wind industry with a primary focus on bearings. From generator, to gearbox, to main shaft and blade bearings I've been involved with many projects to investigate root cause of failure and propose solutions to them.
As a Design Engineer with Applied Engineering Techonolgy I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. These projects have a wide scope of application and duration; ranging from 2 days to 5 months. I have had the opportunity to expand my 3D CAD experience to included Solid Works. I have also learned and used skills relating to the ISO:9001.
I worked with a product development group on design, build, and testing of new products. This was my first job in the engineering field. I was happy to learn that this was going to be a hands-on engineering job, involving ingress protection testing, prototype builds and destructive testing. I learned how to communicate and organize materials and time.
