About Coryn Marsik
Coryn Marsik is a Associate Vice President, Business Engagement at Kennesaw State University. She possess expertise in international relations, policy, government, event planning, research and 25 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I have known Coryn for over 6 years, in both a personal and business context. She is an extraordinary problem solver, strategic thinker, and strong relationship builder. Coryn is extremely dependable, taking ownership of projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. She is a proactive hard worker who is not afraid to take risks and innovate. Coryn has honed a unique set of skills in project and event management that allow her to produce everything from small gatherings to complex conferences. She and I worked side-by-side on large-scope domestic and international events with very complicated logistics. She excels at these logistic arrangements but also at navigating delicate politics. Coryn easily commands respect and loyalty and can organize event teams, vendors, agencies, and suppliers, always keeping projects on time and on budget. Coryn is a very reliable professional. She understands teamwork and you can be sure that all her projects are going to be done on time and on budget. She can manage projects of all sizes and scopes, she looks at all the details and will make things happen. She builds relationships and works cross-functionally to obtain better results and is a very had worker. She is capable of multi-tasking and develop more than one project at the same time, always with great results in all of them. She works in fast-paced environments and coordinates the different steps of a project from beginning to end. I miss working with Coryn every day and would rehire her in a second. I recommend Coryn for any position without any reservations whatsoever. " and "I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Coryn since August of 2018. I do not exaggerate when I say that Coryn has proven herself to be a very impressive person. She came into this position with no experience in working through University bureaucracies and has managed to pull-off 34 events in 9 months, many of which were scheduled within days of each other. Under her supervision, our programs have seen the largest audiences (e.g., 400 at our International Women’s Day Breakfast on March 8, 2019 and 250 at our Korean Ambassadors’ Dialogue program on March 18, 2019) and pulled in the most revenue of any of this organization’s programs in its 9-year history. On top of these programs, Coryn is also overseeing several administrative changes (she’s designing a new website for us, and negotiating with university officials on obtaining new vendors for our programs). All this to say that Coryn’s employment is secure and on an upward trajectory. As a person, I believe Coryn to be very dependable. She has gone the extra mile for her work without complaint – working through weekends and holidays as needed (our programs very often are scheduled last minute because, for example, a high-level speaker has informed us s/he will be in town in two weeks’ time). She is incredibly personable and cheerful; even through frustrating moments (like getting a vendor proposal rejected on first attempt) she maintains a smile and pushes through. She has grit. "
