About Coryna Ogunseitan
I am an enthusiastic interdisciplinary scholar, writer, care worker and educator. My current research looks at how burgeoning diagnostic categories like climate anxiety and climate grief are reshaping mental healthcare modalities in the San Francisco Bay Area. In particular I am interested in understanding how the intersections of climate change and environmental racism impact mental health among parents in local communities of color. In previous roles I have worked as a curriculum designer and teacher for marginalized college-aged students, supporting them to access higher education opportunities. I also have experience working in Montessori settings with young children from infants to preschoolers and currently work part time at Fledgling Montessori. At the center of all the work I do, ranging from research to education, is a commitment to equity and an ethics of care.
