Initiated and led WSJ's "New Formats" team, a key component of the brand's digital transition strategy. My group owned a series of digital channels designed to drive deep reader engagement: email products including newsletters, alerts and email courses; a Live Q&A module; embedded calendars; structured data sets and rankings; and e-books. Built a team and led the development and launch of an on-platform live Q&A experience that brings our journalism closer to readers by pairing live video with member questions.

Orchestrated a top-to-bottom overhaul of newsletter strategy for The Wall Street Journal, paring the portfolio to approximately 40 high-performing email newsletters and alerts, including The 10-Point, What's News, Future of Everything, WSJ. Magazine, and a WSJ Pro portfolio. Migrated newsletters to a new tech platform and aligned branding, curation approaches and A-B testing strategies to achieve annual subscriber growth of 45%. Developed a member and non-member strategy to drive revenue and engagement. Launched fresh and audience-driven newsletters to drive top-of-funnel growth and reduce churn, working across business units. High-profile launches include WSJ. Magazine, Future of Everything, WSJ Books, Grapevine, Election+Business, and standalone newsletters aimed at women and business leaders of color. Built a team and led the overhaul of how WSJ handles reader comments, an effort that resulted in thousands of new subscribers, an increasingly diverse community of participants, and a healthier dialogue with readers.
