Cory Stark is a Regional Field Manager with the Colorado Department of Public Safety in the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Cory has worked in the areas of business, community safety, emergency medical service, fire rescue, police/fire communications, and in 2008 took a coordinator position in the Elbert County Office of Emergency Management. He would assume the role of Director in January 2010 leaving for his State of Colorado appointment in June of 2013. Cory’s career in Emergency Management to date, he has been in direct leadership support in wildfire, tornados, severe storms, mass evacuation, Boulder County DR 4145 flood response in September 2013. During this deployment, he would hold the position of Branch Director for the impacted communities of the North Central "All Hazard" region (NCR) for the State of Colorado. Cory would support the impacted communities in the NCR for the second presidential declaration DR 4229 with the spring 2015 flood disaster of 2015. Leadership, management, and coordination roles have continued in winter blizzards, civil unrest, planned events, disaster damage assessments, line of duty death coordination, disaster recovery efforts, water dam emergencies. In 2017 Cory was part of the leadership teams for the State of Colorado deployment efforts to support Monroe County in Hurricane Irma. In 2019 Cory was part of the leadership team as a State Coordinating Officer to Hinsdale County in support of Avalanche Flood disaster. Beginning in 2020 Cory became part of the teams to support and coordinate with the State of Colorado and its health initiatives to fight the global pandemic of COViD19. Cory would assume leadership responsibility in 2021 for the site development, build out, stakeholder development, and operational coordination for the Community Vaccination Sites at Ball Arena and Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Denver and Commerce City Colorado. Cory helped lead Colorado migrant work efforts over 24 months thru fall of 2024 with City of Denver, Cory led 5 counties thru presidential declaration DR 4731 as a result of Colorado Flooding in June 2023 and most recently would lead a response of the 2024 Pro Palestinian Encampment Response for Auraria Higher Education Campus in Denver. Cory holds Bachelors of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management and is a Colorado Certified Emergency Manager.
