Responsibility for project prioritization and pipeline management with focus on strategic improvements of PPG's manufacturing facilities within the Americas region. Oversight of the capital expense budget for Springdale research and development center. Management of a team of process analytical technology engineers to support execution of global process improvement and digitalization projects in manufacturing.

In this role I was responsible for development of best practices for a pilot paint and resin production process and identification and execution of continuous improvement projects. Through this experience I have been able to support installation of inline measurement technologies at several full-scale paint and resin manufacturing sites globally. In this role I have used spectroscopic methods for process cycle time reduction and in-line quantitation of key quality parameters. In addition, I developed a patent pending methodology for measurement of a process parameter critical to electrocoat baths without the need for physical sampling. Finally, I served as the technical lead for an initiative investigating conversion of batch to continuous production for certain high volume coatings.

As part of my Master's degree I completed an internship project supporting a technology that PPG is developing within an emerging market. Through this experience I gained additional experience in market analysis, development of competitive landscapes, and understanding the needs of customers. At the conclusion of this project, I presented findings and recommendations for the technical leadership team. This included analysis of several options for PPG's level of participation within this value chain, a review of key competitors in each segment, and a summary of the opportunities and risks for each option based on the present competitive landscape.

Assessed 200+ FE and PE level chemical engineering problems for credibility and solvability. Provided editorial services for expanded reference manual to assure validity of commentary.

Engineer responsible for continuous improvement and day-to-day production support for high throughput color sample preparation system. Experince maintaining and upgrading several automated systems such as conformal coaters, pilot scale atomizers, and 6-axis robots. In this role I streamlined processing steps to capture 10% cycle time reduction and upgraded measurement equipment to drive 35% reduction in average number of iterations per job completed. Additionally, I re-designed and commissioned a waste collection system to reduce hazardous waste disposal volume and cost by over 90%.

Continued responsibility for continuous operation and improvement of the caustic purification process. Implemented multiple cost savings initiatives which are on track to achieve greater than $300,000 in OPEX savings for 2017. Served as production unit lead for planning and execution of large scale capital project to upgrade key process equipment.

Responsible for continuous operation and improvement of the caustic purification process at Westlake's Natrium, WV plant. In addition to process engineering, duties include production tracking, inventory and shipping management, and environmental oversight of department and total plant outfall. I am also in the plant's Mercury reduction committee, Young Professional Organization, and head the Caustic department safety team.

Worked on fermentation and optimization of microbe strain for bio-fuel production. Performed testing such as HPLC to measure levels of ethanol as well as low value byproducts. Used OD measurement to characterize growth as well. Gained experience with biolector and ankom systems for fermentation monitoring. Simulated large scale growth conditions to analyze and increase robustness of strains which aids in complex scale up for industrial fermentation.

Performed site visits surveying the facilities being retrofitted. Modified blueprints of buildings to show new lighting, ventilation, and telecom plans for contractor use. Performed calculations to discern type and quantity of new fixtures needed. Gained experience in microsoft Excel as well as AutoCAD
