Passionate about urban sustainability and community engagement, I am an emerging leader in the climate action and Social Science field with a strong interest in Urban Conservation. My goal is to serve the community and enhance the well-being of all individuals, particularly those facing systematic disadvantages, through socio-ecological work in conjunction with the development of the built environment.With my professional experience as an Engagement Coordinator in the Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency Office of the City and County of Denver (CASR), I have been instrumental in creating, standardizing, and streamlining community engagement processes. This has resulted in increased literacy of CASR programs and climate resiliency among Denver residents. I have also allocated resources of over $300,000 and initiated programs such as the Denver Public Schools Pilot program, which focuses on equity and student-led sustainability projects.As a Community Engagement / High Performance Buildings and Homes Intern at CASR, I actively participated in community meetings, represented CASR at public events, and contributed to various projects related to sustainable building practices and renewable energy. I also conducted outreach to key stakeholders and leveraged data analysis skills to develop a social equity index for under-resourced buildings totally over 1,500 buildings within the city.In my research experience, I served as a Research Assistant in the Rebecca Niemiec Conservation Action Through Behavior Science Lab, where I conducted socio-environmental research and collaborated with city officials to optimize messaging regarding native planting. I also worked as a Qualitative Research Assistant for the Rights of the Salish Sea Organization, conducting research on rural conservation using similar qualitative analysis skills to deduce the feelings of the local community.With a B.S in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University, I have gained a strong academic foundation in Urban Ecology and Sustainability. My coursework has equipped me with skills in sustainability analysis, Arc GIS experience, and understanding foundational ecological principals. Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I have demonstrated exceptional customer service and communication skills as a Sales Associate at Homegoods.Combining technical expertise with a strong commitment to social justice, I am dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and empowering individuals to lead healthier and environmentally friendly lifestyles.
