A professional Architect with over 25 years experience, who is able to breakdown tasks into the most efficient way of working and ensuring deadlines are met.I am an experience Architect who joined Austin-Smith: Lord in 2006, bringing to the practice more than fourteen years experience in the commercial, retail, public and housing sectors. Although my portfolio is varied, my main interest and expertise is in Sustainable Design.Over the last few years I have worked extensively on conservation and retrofit projects, using my sustainability knowledge in new ways to restore listed and heritage buildings. I continually develop practical, applicable methods of introducing sustainable best practice into all aspects of Austin-Smith: Lord work. Currently I am the Environmental Manager within Austin-Smith: Lord. Having written and implemented the ISO 14001 standard throughout the practice, I am now working with our sustainability group on how the practice can achieve net zero emissions by 2030.I achieved the Certified European Passivhaus Designer qualification in 2011, hold the RIAS Accreditation in Sustainable Building Design and the RIAS Conservation Accreditation. In September 2020 I became the Chair of the Scottish Ecological Design Association and work closely with SEDA Directors to share knowledge and best practice of holistic sustainable design through our seminars and publications.
