Working as a software development consultant for Agical AB, who also pays me for working part time with Calva, a Clojure extension for Visual Studio Code. I have decades of experience from developing software. Backend, frontend, product management, User experience, you name it. Currently I want to focus on programming in Clojure, a functional first, data-oriented programming language that is just a joy to use!

Please get me started on the subject of Open Source. I think it is a wonderful mode of cooperation that we have found. For me I have been increasingly involved, and since March 2018, when I released Calva, I can without hesitation say that I am doing it full time. I'm creating two internal libraries for the ClojureScript apps in the company monorepo. All from scratch, gathering requirements, prototyping, iterating the solutions and participating in rolling out. I'm loving it! Having the best work experience in my life, actually. Pitch is such a great place! A product to die for. Gathering the most amazing talent in the industry. A choice of the best main programming language imaginable. As mobile fully exited the Lab at Projectplace and became an integrated part of its Social Business strategy we decided to build up our expertise on mobile through concentrating it to one team, Mobile Team. We are tasked with bringing out a new generation of Projectplace Mobile apps to the market. The first iterations are released, on both Android and iOS, and now we're full at work with making the next iteration even more awesome and delightful.The team currently consists of a mix of Projectplace employees and Tarento iOS consultants working from Bangalore, India. It's challenging and rewarding gapping the distance. They have lots of expertise in how to do it at Tarento and we've added our special Projectplace twist to it, of course. In the longer term we'll be working less with consultants. If you're a mobile developer who like to work in high performance environments with change as the only constant, holler my way and we'll have a chat.

Projectplace Labs is an innovation enabling effort at Projectplace. It's about giving new development ideas a testing environment and investigating potential partnerships and such. Going to work is just so wonderfully fun these days!

After two failed attempts to get inside the Projectplace doors I finally made it on a "Frontend developer" ticket. Not that I have been coding much frontend, though. It's more like I've been all over the place, both in the code and in the organization. Among the first things I took on was securing the service from the dreaded XSS threat and that really meant touching base everywhere in the system which at that time had some improvements still to make in the separation of UI, logic, and models. The latter something I've certainly have helped out to improve, mostly through injecting one Agile principle after the other.I can say with a straight face that I have been a big contributor in bringing Agile into Projectplace. Yes, mainly in the software development area, but since Agile is contagious we quickly saw stuff like daily stand-up meetings enter the business as a whole. Projectplace is a wonderful organization for someone with ideas about how to do things more efficient and having more fun. I remember during my first week:Me: How about we try to employ "accepted responsibility" as a strategy to get things done?My colleagues: What's that?Me: It's about the people doing things having a say in what they commit to. About pulling instead of pushing. Things like that.My colleagues: Sounds great. Let's try it! Where should we start?Gotta love a place like that!

Automating processes for large organization's need of standard stationaries, flyers, business cards, etcetera. It was mostly Javascript for bot backend (ASP.NET) and frontend.I participated in automating internal flows of assets in the printing processes, mainly digital printing. The former involved the whole delivery from meetings with the customers, gathering requirements to coding front and back end, and integration with the printing processes and support systems. The latter was extra fun since I could utilize my experience in postscript and PDF technology.I also Customized web frontends for EO's service of providing digital asset management to our customers. This was mostly a pain, since the digital asset solution used was totally horrible in its so called support for web technology.

At Vestigate I was managing mainly three things: The product, the development of the product and the vision. Developing the product had some major challenges connected to it which made things really scary and really fun at the same time. We turned a situation where people were angry and frustrated most of the time to one where we felt we were in control, innovative and loved our job. It was one of the first Swedish old-school development projects that turned to agile values for the rescue and found it.

I was an operations engineer in the Unix department. Automated everything that moved (and many things that didn't move), utilizing my skills in Unix shell scripting.The Scania printing department found out about my printing and postscript experience and thus I got to split my time consulting there as well.Most fun parts at this position was:- The Scania culture and spirit of making things ever more easy and efficient.- The Scania assembly line never ceased to intrigue me.- I had automated large productions of printing material before, but never somewhere close to the scale it was done here.- Working at a place where the scare of Y2K was very real, preparing and taking part of the atmosphere during the actual night of Y2K is something I will always remember as a major event in my working life.
