- Led technical development of the Performance Analysis and Training Tool product. - Managed the SeeGauge project from successful funding application, to proof-of-concept delivery, to attracting further funding for product development from Scottish Executive. - Led development of SeeTrack Inspector product, utilising sonar image mosaicing for harbour security, commissioned by the US Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center - Developed algorithmic solutions for SPINAV, a proof-of-concept project for autonomous underwater riser inspection.

- Development of computer vision algorithms and software components for applications in the surveillance industry, oil & gas industry and the military.

School of Engineering and Physical Sciences - Led technical development of the real-time, video docking system of the EU Framework V project ALIVE, a world first demonstration of an underwater autonomous intervention vehicle, in collaboration with Cybernetix/France, HitecVision/Norway, IFREMER/France and the EU Joint Research Centre/Italy. - Led technical development at Heriot-Watt University for the EU Framework V project VIRTUE, an immersive telepresence demonstrator, in collaboration with SONY/UK, BT/UK, Heinrich Hertz Institut/Germany, TU Delft/Holland, TNO/Holland.
