I earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from The State University of New York College at Oneonta and then furthered my education at the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a master’s degree in Geology. I completed my thesis on different depositional environments and water quality along the Mississippi River near Natchez. My experience in Mississippi expanded my interest in the field of oil and petroleum, especially while attending the 2019 Imperial Barrel Award competition with a team from USM. Completing my master’s thesis and conducting fieldwork around the United States has prepared me to begin my search for a career in the industry.I am seeking a position within the hydrology, hydrogeology, or petroleum industry. I grew up in Kingston, NY with my bedroom window overlooking the Hudson River. Kingston is historically known for having a beautiful waterfront area that attracts attention and visitors from all over the United States. As I grew older, I learned that the Hudson River has many issues due to the overexposure of anthropogenic use. My awareness of these issues, paired with my love of the outdoors was what inspired me to pursue my education and career in geology. I enjoy traveling and seeing the diverse people and places of the United States. After spending two years by the Gulf of Mexico, I am confident that I'd like to continue traveling and expanding my geologic and societal knowledge. My experiences have taught me what it takes to be a team player and have prepared myself educationally and practically for a career as a geologist.
