Oversee the provision of mental health therapy and other services by private mental health agencies within the school district. Manage the district's substance abuse prevention program.

Provide district level oversight and support to intervention teams at over 30 schools. Services include consultation with school counselors, administrators, and executive staff on matters related to Pre-k through 12 student learning and behavior through a Response to Intervention framework. Additional responsibilities include leadership of infusion of System of Care principles into district processes, the RtI Leadership Team, RtI Work Team, participation on the county’s Gang Re-entry Intervention Team, Co-chair of MeckCARES Training Institute, and consultation and direct service for the Special Education department with a focus on the overrepresentation of African American students in the Seriously Emotionally Disabled category. Further duties include leading the Intervention Team Specialists data collection and analysis process, and ongoing professional development for school and district level staff regarding intervention team processes, data-based decision making, and System of Care.

Duties included consulting with families, teachers, school staff, and various social agencies to meet the educational and emotional needs of students, providing direct mental health services to students, implementing programs and conducting staff in-services targeting needs of the student population, providing outreach services to families and students, conducting psychological assessments for special education, implementing classroom and home interventions to modify student behavior, developing inter-departmental staff relationships. Additional services include conducting full psychological assessments for determination of Special Education eligibility and placement, conducting child, parent and teacher interviews, administering a range of psychological instruments, leading IEP and Intervention teams, and student referral team meetings, and writing psychological reports. Also, counseling duties encompass conducting group and individual counseling, implementing behavior intervention plans, teacher consultation, collaborating with school personnel regarding programming and services, parent counseling, and making referrals for non-school based services. Further duties acting as the school’s Title I Supplemental Educational Services tutoring facilitator.

Conduct online course facilitation as an adjunct Psychology professor. Courses include Child and Adolescent Development, Introduction to Psychology, Cognition and Learning, and Interpersonal Psychology. Job responsibilities include facilitating class discussions, providing students with constructive feedback about assignments, writing, and thinking skills, participating in bi-weekly conference calls, directing students towards academic support resources, maintaining contact with students for the purpose of promoting academic success.
